How long has Exclusive Tans been in business?

We've been open in the North Castle Rock location for over 5 years. The Castle Pines location has been open since March 2003.

Didn't these salons used to be called Executive Tans?

Yes, they did. The name changed in the fall of 2006.

Why did the name change?

These salons were part of the Executive Tans franchise. We left the franchise and are no longer associated with them.

Did anything else change besides the name?

Only for the better! We are able to offer great tanning at great prices with superior customer service. If you had an account with us when we were called Executive Tans, you still have everything now that we are Exclusive!

What happened to the salon in the Safeway Center at Plum Creek?

Unfortunately, we were not able to negotiate a new lease that would work for us at that location. All customer accounts from that salon were re-located to the North Castle Rock salon (next door to Applebee's). We have the same packages, same great customer service, and even more of those popular Level 2 beds.

Does Exclusive Tans accept checks?

We accept checks with valid photo id. We also accept all major credit cards, and cash still works for us, too.

Does Exclusive Tans have an in-house credit program?

For established customers, we offer an in-house credit program. Ask a staff member about it and get started on your tan today!

Does Exclusive Tans accept competitor's coupons?

We accept coupons from actual competitors. A competitor is any business whose primary service offering is indoor tanning or airbrush tanning. We are unable to accept coupons from hair salons or health clubs who happen to have a tanning bed or two in the back. Bring in a coupon from one of our competitors, and it's likely we have a better offer.

Does Exclusive Tans offer refunds?

If you are unsatisfied with any product or service you've purchased from Exclusive Tans, we want to know about it. We're happy to help you find something you'd rather have, or a service package that suits you better. We are, however, unable to refund your cash (or check, or credit card purchase). We offer in-store credit only. With as many merchandise choices, tanning packages – including UV-free packages – and gift cards, we're sure you'll find something that works for the something that didn't.

Does Exclusive Tans provide sponsorship opportunities?

Exclusive Tans is happy to contribute to our community by sponsoring various fund-raisers as requested. We most often provide a gift certificate to use as a door prize, or for raffles or auctions. We're happy to sponsor the cheer and pom squads from the local high schools by offering discounted packages for their members. We seldom offer monetary donations.

To request sponsorship, please provide a written request on company or school letterhead with contact information. If you have a website, we would like yours to link to ours. We'd like to be mentioned as sponsors somewhere in your print media.

Finally, if your group is looking for a fund-raiser, we have several opportunities for that including our ‘CROCS for CASH', ‘TANS for CANS', or ‘TATS for TOTS' programs. Give us a good cause in our community and let us know how we can help.

Can I bring my child into the tanning room with me?

Colorado Department of Public Health allows only 1 person in the tanning room while the tanning device is in use.

Can I bring my children in to sit in the lobby while I tan?

If your children are 12 years old or older, they are welcome to sit un-attended in our lobby. For children under 12, our insurance provider requires that you sign a waiver if you'd like to leave them un-attended in our lobby. You can view a copy of the waiver by clicking here.

Can I bring my pets into the lobby while I tan?

We're sorry, but the Colorado Department of Public Health will not allow us to have pets (other than service animals) in our facility.

How old do I have to be to tan?

The law in Colorado does not specify a minimum age for tanning. Any tanners under 18 must have parental consent. At Exclusive Tans, we require parents to come to the salon, show proper ID, and sign the release form for their under-18 tanners. After that, it is not necessary for the parent to accompany their child to the salon for each tanning visit. If a parent cannot come to the salon, we require a notarized signature allowing their child to tan with us. You can download a tanning release form here.

I heard there was a law that prevents teenagers from tanning. Is this true?

A bill was proposed earlier this year to prevent anyone under 18 from accessing a UV-tanning device. That bill did not pass. However, some good information did come out of all the discussion around teen tanning. We, at Exclusive Tans, definitely want to help teens get the tan they want and take care of their skin at the same time. To see all the info about teen tanning, click here.
